ummmm...green...calm...almost ready...beautiful..

The days are winding down in anticipation of the tomato feast...the pearly essence on the fruits and stems sparkle when the sun is starting to go down.

Flying saucer zucchini, "Custard White", are just now forming off the bloom...

We love these stir fried with the garlic scape babies below, sweet onion, any new veg in the garden like green beans, radish...and near the end...adding an organic spicy bean chilli...all topped with shredded cheese...

The last green is dessert..soon...ripening plums...dripping this year from the branch.

ummmm....green..calm...almost ready..and beautiful...

  1. Your photos are beautiful.
On August 9th my partner & I are heading off in our Rialta with Abby, our Westie, on a cross Canada road trip. We'll be travelling from Victoria, BC all the way to Atlantic Canada. We can hardly wait to see what the Maritimes have in store for us. We are gardeners and we have 2+ months to explore 'small town Canada'.

  2. Wow, that sounds like a fantastic trip!! Everything seems to be about two to three weeks ahead this year and we are actually feeling the coolness of autumn in the morning air. Your upcoming trip reminds me of a book ..Apples to Oysters by Margaret Webb "A food lovers tour of Canadian Farms"..a good read in a similar vein to your upcoming journey. Thank you for your kind words re the photos.

  5. Thx Brenda for all the vegetables. The carrots and UFO-zucchini are so tender and tasty.

But i have one question, can you kill a tomato-plant with to much nutrients?

  6. Dearest Anonymous)))...you are most welcome and...no to the second part I DON"T THINK!! )))and I know you are organic so would say no. Let me have a look at them...blight is bad right now!! Likely that is the culprit.

  7. Dear Brenda, :-))

it's to late for a look at my tomatoe-plants, after i planted them the most of them died after 3 to 5 days, only 3 survived, i have no idea why this was happend, i am very sad, because i love tomatoes so much.
